Since losing over a hundred pounds my abs are in terrific shape, I did a 9 minute, 9 sec plank yesterday with my trainer. What is the best any of you have done. I am 71 years old
That is amazing Grannypacker12. Oh, and congratulations on winning your prize!
The longest I have gone is 5 minutes and 44 seconds. I've done over 5 minutes a few times just to see if I could, but it is very hard.
Great Attributes and statistics! Keep Active Live Long!
i just tried and got to 3 minutes and felt the burn. you got me beat!
At the end of my ab workout I do a bit over a minute on each side and then front plank all back to back, but not for 9 minutes!
I have pushed my last plank for over 2 minutes, but I don’t have a stopwatch for exact times.
Great Job!!! Keep up the great work!!!
WOW! I'm impressed! Amazing job
how do you do your planks..are you in the full push up position or are you in pushup position and your elbows on the floor...lol total burn both ways...just takes longer straight armed lol
I am on my elbows and my toes with my trainer monitering my pose and the time
That's crazy impressive , should post a video I doubt people believe it.
That's why I posted I did it with my Trainer. Trust me they let you get away with nothing. I will have another assessment coming up the first part of April and my goal is to go for 10 minutes if I can.Not sure I'll make it as the 9min, 9sec plank almost killed me. Figure you have to have goals.
Wow, I am still trying to get in a whole minute!
I'm on my elbows too. I can't say I hold perfect form though. There are a few breaks in form right after the 4 minute mark, but I don't touch my knees to the floor. Grannypacker, you are amazing!!
Great job Grannypacker! u are the BOMB...Most time I could get, without complaining, is 3 mins...Wow, you are awesome...
That is crazy! I have a pretty respectable set of abs and I couldn't do half that if my life depended on it. Way to go!
Wednesday was my assessment day and I did the Plank for 11min and 46 sec, getting closer to my 15 min goal.
That is wonderful. What an inspiration! You should be very proud of yourself for the huge weight loss and long plank time! I've never timed myself doing planks, but now I want to try.
We do, however, have a fitness competition at my club with wall squats or some people call them wall sits to see how long you can hold the proper position. It is a great lower body exercise that works your quads primarily, but also glutes and hamstrings. You should try it sometime. You "sit" against a wall and drop down to a 90 degree angle with your feet shoulder width about 2 shoe lengths away from the wall (not too far out in other words or that would be cheating). Keep your hands off your knees- so most people hold them in a praying position- probably praying to get it over with!
