SO I am getting married in 1 week! I have not lost one pound, but my body has completely changed. I started lifting more aggressively about 2 months ago and I have seen some ridiculous results! I am getting married in Las Vegas, so not only am I preping for the wedding, but the vacation/ honeymoon (we call it the vaca-neymoon). I've been pretty good for the past month, but all the parties are coming up and it's getting harder to be good. I wanted to see if there are any more brides-to-be out there with some tips to keep from being bloated on the big day or some neat tricks to look a little slimmer. Any suggestions? Surprise

Hi Emily! Congrats on your engagement first of all.Happy What an exciting time for you!

I am not a bride-to-be but I have had to do sort of the same thing in the past when I was attending a big event. To keep from being bloated on the day of you can do the following:

  1. Don't eat a lot of salt, sodium retains water.
  2. Continue to exercise.
  3. Avoid lactose laced foods--cabbage, milk, etc.
  4. When eating meals, chew slowly.
  5. Don't chew gum.
  6. Avoid eating processed foods such as mac and cheese, the high amounts of sodium will cause bloating.
  7. Don't eat snacks such as chips have high sodium content.
  8. Avoid diet sodas and candies.
  9. Eat foods rich in fiber.
  10. Drink chamomile tea, which is not only good for the digestive system, but reduces bloating as well.

I hope this helps, again congrats and mostly HAVE FUN!

I think this will be great! Thank you! I just heard about gum causing some people to bloat due to the fake sugar. I will let you know how it goes.
Last time I went to Vegas I lost 3 pounds. So I am hoping I won't gain any this time. I am getting my sister and cousins to do a "Stripper 101" class. It's just a dance-class with a former stripper as the instructor. It was really fun last time I did it, so at least I can get some of us active before the big day. If anything it will make me laugh a lot! Wink

Man, I wish I had saw this post about 3 weeks ago. I would have had the perfect solution for you. It's called the Body Magic. It's a medical grade garment, that reshapes and slims your body, no bulges, no rolls, no gimmicks. I wear it everyday and I wore mine when I got married too. But you may still be interested, check out my website...www.ardysslife.com/tblair

Mine is in 8 weeks. The hardest part is bridal showers and bachlerette parties. it's not like you can not drink or eat the cake they bought you. I'm just spending more time working out, and eating nothing but raw veggie's to compensate for it. I think I may take some water weight pills and hope that will help with any bloat. Working out with a trainer is helping a lot too.

If you stick to lean meats like fish and chicken or turkey breast and only eating complex carbs like potatoes, yams and even bananas, and stray away from sweet fruits like watermelon you should be fine and drink about 100 ounces of water a day.

Also try and stay away from salt, oils butters and breads other than the cake they get you and on your wedding day eat what you want, you've got him now lol. Hope this helps Happy
