Hello Ladies, Congratulations on getting started. I joined about 4 months ago. You will find much support here. There's a -15 Challenge here in General Discussion forum and it's never too late to join in. I'm happy to help support you because there was somebody here when I needed the support. It's very motivating to read and take inspiration from this AH/AF family of stories. Feel free to friend me.

I'm pretty new at Anytime Fitness and would love to have on line support. I like to work out because it makes me feel good and I sleep better. Zumba is my favorite class. I actually quit smoking four years ago and I feel better, but I've gained some weight. My biggest problem is caloric intake. I have weaknesses and cravings.

I think it's great to have on-line buddies because we can support each other.

Have a great day (and be sure to work out today)

Hi everyone, Wow this is great I already feel like there is going to be a lot of support on this site.
Victoria- we are starting the same time, how much weight are you looking at to lose. Lets focus 10 pounds at a time. We can do it.

Juliana- You still sound motivated that's exciting to hear. How much weight have you lost, if you don't mind me asking.

Georgia-Zumba actually sounds really fun, I need to get over my insecurities. It will be the first time today I step into a gym, so little intimidated.

Laura- Wow that is awesome 95 pounds so far. I have never made it that far before. I would lose 45 or so pounds, and I dont know what happens. I start feeling good and quit. Sounds silly huh? Now I'm basically starting over again, because low and behold the weight come back. Should know this by now, I am 50 ha.

Still trying to learn how to use this site. To friend people do you have to have your settings in your profile set differently.

Well good luck everyone! Now to just make it through that door of Anytime Fitness for the first time...

count me in!! I joined 3 weeks ago and have lost 5 pounds! I lost 40 pounds (started 2 years ago) over a year, then plateaued and have been stuck since. Then last Aug I had back surgery and gained about 10 pounds back. I like sharing healthy recipes and cheering others on in their quest to be healthy!!

how was your first time at the gym?

Hi Psalm, that is awesome 5 pounds. Just got back from the gym, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to walk through that door. Stayed for an hour and got a good workout. I'm going to try real hard to go 5 times a week, Monday thru Friday.
Thanks for the support everyone.

Hi Linda, 4 pounds thats great... I can't wait until I see pounds lost. We can do this!!!

Congrats on your first one! I'm Lisa, by the way. The gym I go to is in walking distance... so I get exercise coming and going. I like it.

Grin So proud of myself...i know its not a Big change but its a change...today I ate just a burger with no cheese, and chose water to drink....no fries or extras like i used to. I figure if I can just cut something out at a time it will be alot easier than a drastic change. I have to admit I had the urge but told my self "If I eat m30ore, it will hurt me" so I didnt....then 30 minutes later...I didnt even want anything extra...the cold ice water & burger was perfect! I know a burger is not the best of choice but...the confidence I gained of being in control was a powerful feeling of accomplishment for that moment. And so I will continue to make better choices & stay clear of over eating and constantly remind myself to eat for nourishment and not for pleasure!
