mam120- I have never really tracked my food as I have been losing weight! I have been eating whatever I want and just watch how much of it I eat! I am one of those people who if I tried to go on a diet I could not stick with it because most diets allow you to just eat certain types of food! One thing I have cut out of my diet is soda and energy drinks! I used to be pretty much addicted to mountain dew, drinking 2 or 3 a day along with red bull or monster energy drinks! When I was doing that I got up to 150 pounds and that scared me for being how short I am and how I have never been size! I started out just running around the neighborhood each night and got down to 130 and decided to get signed up at the gym! I am now down to where I would like to be! and hope to now just gain more muscle because I dont think there is very much more fat to lose!
Congrats Jennifer on getting rid of the soda and getting healthier!! I dropped soda a year ago and eat organic, unfortunately no weight came off tho. I did adopt new healthy habits and so this year Im adding the exercise. Scales are going nowhere and Im frustrated but know Im doin what is right. Im a scale addict and weigh every day adding to my frustration so Im hoping this weigh in on Fridays will give me inspiration.
I would like to be in on this too. My weight this past Friday was 266. My reason: I'm just flat out tired of being overweight, and the yo-yo dieting I have done most of my life. I'm 52. I would just as soon not have deal with all of the health issues that will plague me the rest of my life if I don't turn this thing around and become a fit person with a healthy weight.

Hope it's not to late to join.I usually weigh every 2 weeks on Thursdays.This Thursday is weigh in so I will post it then. I get so discouraged when I weigh every day. Weight has always been an issue with me. I found some old notes from 2003 with a weight of 266.5. Didn't join AF till 12/07.I have been up and down the scale but really got serious in June of 2011.I waver between 201 and 199.5.My goal is to get down to 160 or less.I am still searching for the body I lost in 1981.Thanks for listening.
I ended up going out of town this weekend, so I didn't get a chance to post my weight on Friday. I did weigh though - 243.1. My weight seems to be going the wrong direction - but then I haven't been able to work out either, so not surprising. I'm going back tonight though - so this week WILL be better - right?

Wish I was going to the gym tonight. I have a sinus infection giving me severe pain in my upper left teeth. I hope the scale doesn't go up on me this week!! I work so hard to try to even lose one pound, but it seems if I get off track on my exercise at all I gain 3 overnight! I will just have to work harder when I'm feeling better to make up for it.

Awesome job everyone!! Keep up the good work. By writing down what you eat everyday (no cheating - even write down those 3 pieces of gum you chewed...anything that goes into your mouth) will give you a birds eye view of what/where to cut.
:) Remeber: don't eat after 7pm... more protein, less carbs - no sugars (unless they are natural like in fruit)...and lots of water!!!(If you feel like you just have to cheat - do it the healthy way - grab a piece of fruit, peanut butter on whole wheat toast, and if you cannot shake that chocolate craving only eat a small 1 inch square (hershey's has individual snack size - just remember to stop at one!!!). and 8 hours of sleep at night!
I'm now down to 144, I tried on Wedding dresses this last Sat. (on my B-day) - and it went really well!
Thanks Dawne and Happy belated Rachel!! Do you guys know how I can track a recipe? This site is not easy to make a recipe on. I see the meal thing but can't figure out how to add anything to it. I hate substituting when what I really eat could be better or worse. Thanks!!
@40nthin.....check out myfitnesspal.com. its a great free site to help you track everything! They also have an easy way to add your own recipes and it gives you all nutritional info. I've been using it to trad k with and its a good, easy site. Good luck!

@Dawne great to talk with someone in the same boat. I hope this will make me accountable to someone. I have been tracking on and off since June 2011. This is so much more fun. Made it to the gym tonight for 20 min of Cardio and legs. @ To all -15 fans we can do this!We are strong!
Count me in also. I just turned 65 last November, I'm disabled,Diabetic, 5 stints in my heart, and suffer from PTSD. In December we were granted total custody of our 12 year old grandson. There are many reasons for me to get healthy and stay active. I weighed in at 217 this morning.
Just found this and I'm in. Just weighed in this morning at 214. Mainly looking to get healthy and tone it up. Good luck to all.
