Off of knee surgery. Finally dropped the 85lbs (oops 90!!) and am ready to play basketball again and go running. One thing, mechanically I have forgotten how to run. I'm horribly nervous about running on the treadmill as well the street. Anyone else out there dealt with this?
The advertisements are annoying, but this may be what you're looking for.

Chris, well worth the advertisements, thank you so much. Lots of work to do, no time like the present. Now it's just trusting the knee.
I've had a couple of knee surgeries over the years. The physical therapists always emphasize strengthening the quad muscles. You might feel more comfortable on the treadmill if you just use it to warm up at first, then switch to a bike until you know you have your stamina and strength back. Good luck!
I have also had knee sugery when I tore my ACL. It is crazy how you have to retrain the body. I remember the therapist showing me how to walk on it right. Take it one step at a time. Good Luck!!
Just listen to your body. My husband is a family doc and he just had knee surgery 2 days ago. He was at the gym on the elliptical today! I think if you have pain, stop. Everyone is so different. Best to you.
