Hi Debbie-
Snacking is not really a bad thing. It depends on what you are snacking on. If its "bad" stuff, try to slowly replace it with fresh fruits, raw veggies, plain yogurt with fruit, lean proteins, complex carbs. Also if you pair a complex carb with a lean protein and a bit of good fat, you will feel full longer. An example of this would be- a can of tuna (in water, low sodium) mixed with a tablespoon of hummus (a little chopped onion and pepper is good too), and spread on triscuits (or some other healthy cracker), That is about 300 calories, has protein, fiber, good fat, and complex carbs. you could eat half of it too in the morning and half in the afternoon too to cut calories.
Keep tracking your intake, and try increasing the intensity of your workouts- try infusing short bursts of really intense work in the middle and/ or add 15 minutes to your cardio daily.
You'll get there. Congrats on your loss so far, it's harder at the end. I had to really fight with the last 15 to get them off. But consistency and switching things up a bit really helped.
Good luck,
Sarah

Hey Debbie!!! I had weight loss surgery in 2004 lost 172lbs then in 2007 my band slipped and I had to have it replaced. The doctor would not tighten my band for over a year and I put on almost 90 pounds of what I lost. Now I have 43 pounds left to hit my goal weight, again. I have had to learn to eat 6 small meals a day. One of my favorite snacks is my mock milkshake. I make it with a scoop of chocolate 100% whey protein powder, 1/2 cup fat free plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen berries, half a banana, a cup of water and I to get desired thickness. I find it to be very filling and it makes me think I am drinking a fun shake while still hitting my fitness goals.
Hi Debbie- my belly was the last to go, I think that is fairly typical. Just keep your diet as clean as possible and increase your cardio. Those are really your best bets. My belly is finally gone and it was worth the "deprivation" and extra sweat I put in at the end. Just take it one day at a time and you will get there.
Instead of snacking, break up your meals. Eat smaller portions by only putting so much on your plate. When the plate is empty, stop eating. Keep the rest of the food to eat 2 hours later. Sometimes work, or life, doesn't allow it, but try that as often as possibly. That way your snack is really part of your meal.
Don't step on the scale every day. At most, do it twice a week. Scales jump, your weight fluctuates throughout the day. Weighing in too often is disheartening. When you do weigh in, do it at the same time of day and wait at least two hours after eating and drinking to step on. Also, try to wear the same weight of clothes. These all affect the weight and can cause inconsistencies.
