Hey there...has anyone signed up for the Warrior Dash in Huntersville, NC? My wife and I did it last year and it was awesome. Was also wondering what workout/diet worked for those who did well last year.

WE'VE GOT ABOUT 4 MONTHS TO GO...I think the Dash is in May this year instead of August.

I say we get a group from ANYTIME FITNESS in Huntersville to REPRESENTHappy

You should try posting this question in the Q&A section. I bet you will get a few results then.

I have just started training for WD Nashville. There is a really good training section on the Warrior Dash website-- based on your goals. Now, I did tweak their program a little, as i have some structural issues that prevent some of their workout, but hey-- adapt, overcome, excel.

I also know below Doc Murray is doing the Tough Mudder in PA in May-- I am sure he will have some ideas too!

I'm doing the Nashville Warrior Dash again as well. The obstacles look a lot cooler this year at the new location. I'm not really training specifically for it though. It's just a fun race to do. My time last year was 32 minutes which isn't horrible I suppose.

As far as training is concerned, I guess that depends on what obstacles you have to overcome. The one I did last year had almost entirely vertical obstacles. A lot of pulling yourself up. However, I'm the first to tell you that my upper body strength is much to be desired, and they didn't really slow me down that much. The worst obstacle for me was the up & under. I'm 6'3", so I can up like a champ, but those unders killed me Laughing .

EDIT: Ha! Now that I realize, my avatar was from that race.

Thanks Chris, Vicki, Magillicuty...I will check out the website for WD (I've been all over it for fun, but now I'll search for workout ideas).

Hey Chris...I was just thinking about asking my AF owner Clint if he would hang ropes from the ceiling...one with knots and the other not. I would try climbing these to help my upper body strength. Our WD had quite a few up and overs...

I know one thing, I'm taping my knees this timeHappy

I so want to do that. I've done the Mudd Run and this year will be my 3rd time doing it I love it. I also want to do the Spartan race and any 5 to 10Ks done couple in the past. My future goal is the Marine Corp marathon in WDC! OoH-RAH! I enjoy running and working out.
People call me wired but I love it!

If you've done a Mudd Run, then a Warrior's Dash would be nothing for you.
