AWWW Thanks trudge you rock,,Now I will have to do it!
@ Debbie,,,I a jealous,I wish I could do 1 pushup! That is a goal of mine, tho it will take some time. I have never in my life done a regular pushup, even when I was super fit and strong. I have the weakest shoulders or weakest something in the history of man
I dont want to do the cheatting girly pushup,I am after the real deal
Hopefully when I can do those I can do pull ups too

I did 10 'up and downs' today. First time. And it was at the end of my 30 minute session, too. Me very
Sally, hang in there. My first attempt at a 'real' pushup left me with carpet fibers on my chin. I started doing them on a stability ball; then on my knees; then leaning against a racked barbell. I still can't do the 'real' kind, but I'm getting there.
It's my abs that just totally refuse to get with the program.
Sally just so you are aware, pullups and pushups utilize entirely different muscles. I can do pushups all day long but pullups are still pretty hard and I max out at 7.
I didnt know that, was hoping that some of the same muscles were used but it looks like I will just have to work harder!I take it pushups are more chest and pullups are more arms and shoulders? How off base am I
Pullups are more back muscles actually, sounds weird but it's true.
I survived my workout. Just barely. But I did it.
'course I'm typing this with my nose since I can't lift my arms.
omg,that is funny
my little victory is that since i joined af last year i weighed about 320 lbs and now i weigh 304 lbs but i am still going i want to lose alot more weight i hope i can do it with out the stress getting to me
You can do it!! I know what you mean with stress getting to you. I was on a great roll with weightloss,my workouts and all that.2 weeks ago I lost my job and now am at a stand still,so I contribute that to stress levels,my mind is not in a good place.I am using tomorrow as my new jumping off point and making a fresh start. I know you will get past it,we both will because WE ARE AWESOME!
Hayden and Sally, just hang in there. We're all changing our lives and that's a long-term process.
Trudge: I couldnt agree more.It takes time for big changes, what matters is we keep at it!
I rode my bike today. The real one, with wheels and gears and reflectors and things
My bike had gathered dust for several years and I wasn't sure how I'd do but I just took off and rode for about a mile, wasn't winded, pretty steady pedaling. I have a mountain bike, and the road is mostly gravel, so my wrists are a bit tired. But I done did it!
I have a great little victory! I have been using a 22lb body bar for chest press on a stability ball.Well,it has been getting very easy to do so decided it was time to up the bar so to speak. I had a trainer spot me on the free weight bar since its about double the weight at 45 lbs. I did it and I can do 3 sets of 12! The trainer even suggested that I add a little weight since I did them relative ease. I was so impressed with myself I can hardly stand it
It amazed me that I was so much stronger than I expected, and I was scared to death at first to try, glad I didnt give in to fear!!!
