I got to meet Susan for the first time at the Anytime Fitness convention in Washington, DC about a month ago. One of the sweetest people I've ever met and such an incredible success story.

When there, she asked me if she was ever in Minnesota, if she could come and see me for a workout (she was here on Tues the 25th). She told me she wanted a tough workout! I put her through one of my SLED-X programs. Beginner SLED-X programs are not easy and I gave Susan a VERY challenging workout. She did everything I gave her like a pro. It was 45 minutes of fast paced functional, core, strength, conditioning, and cardio interval exercises with Bosu balls, TRX bands, exercise tubing, stability balls and several pieces of strength equipment. She's an AMAZING woman!!!

If Jay Leno tried to do this workout, he'd need a paramedic half way through!!

And yet, you didn't say hi to me at Conference. Harumph.

Susan is an amazing woman, and doesn't realize how inspirational, encouraging and how much she enriches all of the lives she touches-- even briefly.

Thanks for joining the "we love Susan" parade-- we needed someone to help with the crowd control.Cool

Vicki, I'm sorry!!! I was so overwhelmed and busy at the conference I couldn't keep up with everything or everybody I wanted to see!!!! Plus, when things are that hectic, my regular SEVERE insomnia kicks into overdrive and I was having a little trouble focusing. I promise you a great PT workout if you ever make it to Minnesota!

Ohhhh . . . now there's an idea! Once Susan gets down to goal and contacts Jay, maybe someone could suggest an on site shoot at ATF! Let Jay make a field trip to see just what she does, how she does it, and why she will always keep doing it!Grin

Hugs Susan!

Any chance you might tell the rest of us who Susan Bock is?

Susan Bock is an active poster (when she's not on vaca), and an AH staple, as well as one of the kindest, gentlest, good hearted folks one may ever meet. Here is a link to her video story-- but this isn't the completion of her story, just a chapter.

It's a shame you don't recognize her name from here-- she is active on all the weight loss support groups-- especially the ones for folks who need to lose more than 100#-- because often times, they need a lot of encouragement.

Here is the link: Susan's Story

She was also featured in some of the commericals during the first 1/2 season of A&E's Heavy, and one of the winners of the AF/AH 2 inspire awards this year.

I appreciate that information. Not all of us here need to loose weight because we belong to a gym, so I am hoping that some of us are maintaining our goals that we have already achieved.

I don't know how anyone who frequents this site could have missed who Susan Bock is! I don't know her as well as others do, but she is wonderfully supportive- ALWAYS! A real person, who truly inspires all of those around her- whether they are starting their journey, mid-way through, or maintaining. What I see and am most impressed with is her compassion and genuine care for everyone on here, she's never judgmental and completely honest about her own struggles and achievements--Those are traits you don't find in too many people. She is truly a blessing to this community.

@ SarahK (channelling a Sally Field impersonation) You "get" her-- you really "get" her.

I really hope all of the corporate staffers really do appreciate all Susan does for AF and AH (I had the privledge of seeing that in person, and trust me, those I saw DO appreciate the sense of family, community, help and gentleness Susan brings to all of the lives she touches.

Although I am not a Buddhist, I did recently tell her she is truly the embodiment of the greeting "Namaste"-- "may all of the good in me touch all of the good in you." There is no better description. She is a phenomenal lady.

I just had dinner with Susan last night, along with others, & I can tell you without-a-doubt, she would be absolutely bright-pink blushing if she knew people were talking about her like this. She embodies all the characteristics of what everyone just listed……….plus a laundry-list more.

Virtually everyone has their own unique story & path that lead them to this point or their “current situation”, but hers is just so amazing, not to discount anyone else, that it serves as inspiration to others.

She’s a champion inside & out.

By the way Jeff, Susan mentioned that her session with you was challenging & amazing.

That's great Tony! I'm really glad she liked the workout. I was actually pretty nervous the whole time. Was really worried I'd disappoint her!!

I too am a member of the Susan fan club. I don't know her well either, but I receive so much inspiration from reading her posts. Not only does she talk the walk, she walks the walk as well. AF should be proud to have a representative who is so committed, kind, and compassionate. I can't WAIT til she does Leno! I'm going to take off work to make sure I see her. And I love the idea of she & Jay sparring by way of a workout. My money is on Susan!

What an awesome story. It makes my desire to lose 42 pounds seem kind of trivial, however motivating at the same time. If she can do this much so can I! Great job Susan I'm sure you are growing in self pride and joy every day!

Bright pink doesn't even begin to describe it Tony. I'm steaming up my glasses!

The love and support I have gotten from all of you and many others has been one of the major motivating keys to my success so far. I have never had so many folks truly care about me as a person. The love I feel for each and every person I've met on this amazing journey can not be described.

You are right Jonny Quest. Not everyone here on AH and at AF have weight to lose. It is folks like you that I admire though. You live a healthy life style and enjoy life as it should be enjoyed. You don't take your health for granted. You "know" that you have to work at it to have it and keep it. I will be forever grateful that I have finally learned that in my life. I now have a life that I enjoy and as I strive to reach the best I can be, it will only get better.

Julus Pahl, no weight loss is trivial! Your desire to get healthier than you are is worth applauding. I could play the "if only" game if I let myself, but I won't. I'm sure there was a time in my life when I could have said I only had 42#'s to lose. But instinct tells me that 42#'s wouldn't have been any easier to lose than the 200 I have lost so far. I still have about 45 to 50 to go to get to where I want to be. It is harder now than ever for the pounds to come off. But I am moving forward again and feel more hopeful than ever that I will finish what I started 3 1/2 years ago. I am happy you found the motivation here on AH and at AF to reach your best! Best wishes to yyou and please keep us posted!

Jeff, at one point in that work out I felt like you were going easy on me. Then the next thing I was thinking was "Oh my goodness, what was I thinking?" My tool box is overflowing now with all the new things I learned from you. Now to master them! It was an honor spending that time with you at your gym. Thank you so very much!

Thank you Vicki, Sarah, Dusky, Stephen and Tami and Tony for your kind words.
A work out challenge with Jay Leno? Now that is food for thought.

Love Always, SusanLovestruck
