Hi Everyone Happy I just joined Anytime Fitness on Monday and I love it already ! I feel so comfortable and not the least bit intimidated. I haven't exercised in years, so I need some help. So far, I've mostly used the Treadmill, although I did try the Elliptical and Bike for about 10 minutes each yesterday. I will be setting up an appointment with a Personal Trainer, but in the meantime can anyone offer some workout routines for weight loss ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi Tammy! Welcome to Anytime Fitness and Anytime Health! Congrats on your new membership and trying it out already. That is good to hear that you are setting up an appointment with a personal trainer soon because that is your best bet to get you started on the right foot for your new exercise regimen. He/she will be able to answer all of your questions and make a workout plan to suit your health and fitness goals. In the meantime I would try to familiarize myself with the new gym and the equipment and all of the features and tools of this website. You can really spend a lot of time on this website watching videos, asking questions, checking out sample diet plans, etc. See if your gym offers a free fitness equipment orientation to new members like yourself. Most do. This would be something you could do prior to your meeting with your personal trainer to get you a jump start and, then of course speak to your personal trainer about what he/she recommends you do. Have fun and feel free to ask lots of questions- that is what we are here for!

Sounds like you are off to a good start. Getting that door open is often times the biggest step! I would recommend trying out the diet tracker and the activity tracker on this site. I have been using them for 6 months and have gotten some fantastic results. Like you- I started out on the cardio equipment I felt most comfortable with. I did that for month, started going on the weight machines 2-3x a week, and then branched out to unfamiliar cardio equipment. I am actually 60 pounds down and running 3-5 miles 5-6x a week and doing strength training in there too. I am meeting with a trainer for the first time next week to get some pointers on circuit based strength training and blasting through my last 15 pounds.

You too, will meet your goals- just be consistent and patient with your self and you will get there.

Hello Tammy,

I also just joined on Moday. I went in today and worked on lower body/legs. I also did 10 min.s on the treadmill, bike and the ellipical. I called the trainer a couple of days ago, waiting to hear back from him. Have plans to go back tomorrow and work some on my upper body and cardio. Good luck and maybe sometime we will run into each other.
