I've started started a new workout that consists of...
Monday: Chest and back (4 workouts for chest and 4 for back) and a 1 mile run.
Wednesday: Arms (4 workouts per tri, bi, and forearms) and a 1 mile run.
Friday: Shoulders and Legs (4 workouts for shoulders and 4 for legs) and a 1 mile run.
I would also like to throw in a 40 minute jog on the in between days. Is this too much? Is this a terrible workout plan?
Goal is to gain muscle endurance and lose weight/burn fat.
That sounds reasonable just make sure to listen to your body. If you feel run down and are having a hard time recovering then you may need to take it easy for a day or two before hitting it again.
The only thing I would change is to perform 3 total body workouts per week to increase fat burning potential. The more muscle you work in a single session the more fat you're gonna burn all week.
