I just had a quick question on working out on an elliptical. I don't know exactly how I'm supposed to move on the machine as far as form - are my heels supposed to lift off the pedals at all or are my feet supposed to be planted throughout the whole range of movement?

It may depend on the type of elliptical machine. I would try to keep them flat on the pedals but some of the brand name ellipticals have a slight downward slant to them and causes the heel to want to lift up slightly. You can also pedal backwards on them to keep the heel flat and to work different muscles.
