How do I set/adjust my weight and activity goals?

The quick answer is…

  1. After logging in, you will be on your Profile landing page. From there, click the Goals tab.
  2. Under Diet & Weight Goals, click the option that applies to you (lose, maintain, or gain weight). Complete the displayed settings for that option.
  3. Under Activity Goal, drag the setting to the desired goal. As you do this, you will see how each activity level is defined.
  4. In the Daily Plan box, click Save Changes.

Ongoing use: If you vary your workouts greatly, you will want to return to the Goals page frequently to adjust your Activity Goal. And, when you reach certain weight benchmarks, you will want to adjust your Diet & Weight Goals.

The detailed answer is…

  1. After logging in, you will be on your Profile landing page. From there, click the Goals tab.
  • In the center of the Goals page, you will see your Daily Plan. Think of this as a calculator—one that creates a personal calorie budget just for you. Your Daily Plan settings will adjust according to the goals you set on this page.
  • Anytime Health automatically sets your Current RMR—or Resting Metabolic Rate—based on the height, weight, and age you entered during sign up. You can verify—or change these settings—on your Info page. Your RMR is the minimum number calories you need to support your body's most basic functions. In other words, this is your base line for calorie intake.
  • The Measured RMR Adjustment is only used if you are working with a personal trainer or dietician, and they have completed such a test. More on this when you set your Diet & Weight Goals.
  • Like your RMR, your Base Activity Level is automatically set for you—based on your height, weight, and age. This number is calculated for a sedentary lifestyle by default.
  • You can add more calories to your budget by increasing your Activity Goal. More on this when you get to that setting.
  • Your Weight Adjustment can subtract or add calories from your budget, based on your Diet & Weight Goals settings.
  • After adjusting for your weight and activity goals, you will see a suggested Calorie Budget. If you don’t plan to be active, you should aim for the lower number of calories. If you complete your activity goal for the day, you can consume the higher number of calories.
  1. Under Diet & Weight Goals, click the option that applies to you (lose, maintain, or gain weight). Complete the displayed settings for that option.
  • Select how quickly you want to lose or gain weight (if applicable). As you do this, your Weight Adjustment and Calorie Budget settings will change in your Daily Plan.
  • If you are working with a personal trainer or dietician, they may suggest you adjust your RMR up or down by a certain number of calories in the Measured RMR Adjustment field. If your RMR has not been measured by a professional, no adjustment is necessary.
  1. Under Activity Goal, drag the setting to the desired goal. As you do this, you will see how each activity level is defined.
  • The Activity Goal in your Daily Plan reflects the calorie burn for the selected activity level. And, that number is added to the upper end of your Calorie Budget.
  1. In the Daily Plan box, click Save Changes.

Ongoing use: If you vary your workouts greatly, you will want to return to the Goals page frequently to adjust your Activity Goal. And, when you reach certain weight benchmarks, you will want to adjust your Diet & Weight Goals.
