Injury prevention is a major concern for any runner. Let’s face it, you're not going to get too far with a torn ligament in your foot, knee, or back. And don’t get me started on shin splints — they're the worst! It's critical that you take all necessary precautions to prevent an injury from sneaking into your training schedule.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just got the notice that my divorce was final and I knew I was ready for change. I don’t remember if I saw a picture of myself, heard a comment from someone, or what exactly “clicked," but Gary (my new personal trainer) must have noticed something.
With summer in sight, more of us are feeling self-conscious about our bodies -- and will enjoy the season less as a result. That's according to a new survey commissioned by Anytime Fitness.

With spring suddenly upon us, I’m sure many of you are looking to take your fitness to the next level. After all, we all want to look lean and fit for the summer, right? And many of us want to perform at our best when it comes to training and competition too! Whether you’re looking to run a few extra miles outside, join a new boot camp class, or get back into your favorite warm weather sport, one thing is for certain—you need to adequately fuel your body.
Whew! It's the halfway point of my half marathon training. I’m up to 9 miles and have 5 weeks to go until race day when I’ll finally tackle the full 13.1 miles. "Uff da," as they say in Fargo, ND, which happens to be where my race takes place on May 18th.
If there's one thing I’ve learned about myself during my first 5 weeks of training, it’s that I’m up for the challenge. Want to know my secret weapon? A damn good playlist.
