Let’s face it, sugar is everywhere you look. It’s in the soda you drink to continue your state of consciousness, it’s in the banana you gave your daughter for her lunch, and it’s in that cookie you snuck in between meetings. We love it, we crave it, and we even drive out of our way to get it; but unfortunately, it doesn’t provide much in the way of nutrition. Sugar has never really been considered a healthy part of the diet, and now a new research study has even more bad news for us!

In our last video, we briefly mentioned a new campaign by the American Heart Association designed to reduce your risk of heart disease. It’s called Life’s Simple 7, and it includes:
- Stopping smoking
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Engaging in regular physical activity
- Following a healthy diet
- Keeping blood pressure under control
- Taking control of cholesterol levels
- Controlling blood glucose levels
Easy enough, right? Actually, accomplishing any one of these can be quite difficult. And what should you be doing to meet each of these goals anyway? Let’s look at each one, and identify a basic To-Do List.
