We all get invested in relationships, projects, and behaviors that seem to resemble what we want in the future. But when we step back and shine the flashlight on what the heck we’re doing (or, not doing) we realize that our current in-flight path isn’t bringing us anywhere good. When our comfort zone becomes our routine, the rosy picture we have in our head called “the future” is based on illusions, fantasy, and wishful thinking.
Don’t Fake Your Future
We’re the grand deceivers of our own hearts and minds, falling into the trap of 'acting' like we’ve got it all together when what’s really happening is we’re getting too cozy with our comfort zone.
If you want a healthy and happy future, then you can’t be more committed to comfort than challenge. Don’t think for a second that you’re the exception to this rule!
We all have a comfort zone, and it’s a dysfunctional concoction of avoidance, denial, procrastination, immediate gratification, and ultimately self-deception. These words might sound harsh at first, but after the dust settles, most of us can see how our need for comfort has become our future enemy.
If you want a healthy body, loving relationships, financial stability, and a shot at overall happiness in the future, then you must start now.
Stop Ignoring, And Start Taking Inventory of Your Future
Future planning is not rocket science. We all want to be in loving relationships, physically healthy, financially stable, and spiritually centered.
Be Willing to Get Uncomfortable
How are your avoiding, denying, excusing, numbing, rationalizing, and intellectualizing away your future?
Send in your thoughts!
