W.I.D.T.H. a Little Help From My Friends

Allow me to introduce myself to yourself: my name is Jack F’n Sh*t (the “F’n” is short for “Franklin,”) and for the past three years, I’ve blogged at a little patch of sunshine called Jack Sh*t, Gettin' Fit.

You see, I’m in the midst of an up-and-down weight loss journey that has turned out to be a lot more than simply chronicling numbers displayed on a scale. It’s been about my search for answers about how and (maybe more importantly) why I’m doing what I’m doing.

That was the impetus for my W.I.D.T.H. campaign, one of my site’s most successful ongoing features. W.I.D.T.H. stands for “Why I Do This Here” (did you note my Southern accent?), where I ask readers to share their motivation for being on their weight loss/healthy living kick.

There are seemingly a million reasons why we're on this path, from the frivolous to the serious, from fun and games to life and death. Some of us want it for ourselves and others for those around us. Some because they want more out of this life and some because they expect more out of themselves. What's your reason? What drives you down this path to living a more healthy life? What's your motivation?
