Welcome to the week of turkey, family, and fun! Thanksgiving is here and many of us will be attending family events and parties. Bringing a gift to the host is a way to thank them for their time. I have found some great, creative gifts to give to the host or hostess of the party, so it will be original and remembered.

Some of the traditional gifts that people bring are a bottle of wine, flowers, or chocolates. These are great, but try to step out of the box and think about bringing one of these gifts.

Candles

A candle is a great gift for the host or hostess because not only can they use it during the party, or dinner but also days beyond thanksgiving. Find a festive scent that isn’t too strong because not everyone likes the same scent. Customize the candle by adding a bow, or ribbon.

Homemade Spread

Make something simple that is thoughtful, and festive. A great option would be an apple cinnamon butter or jam. Put the spread in an interesting jar that the host can keep, and reuse in the future.

Platter

If you are bringing some type of appetizer, or baked good to share to your thanksgiving diner find a platter to present them on that the host can keep. Pick a platter with warm colors that represent thanksgiving that they can pull out every year and remember you by.

Infused Olive Oil

Infused olive oil is a great gift because most people won't buy it for themselves. The great thing about this is that it is easy to make if you want it to have a personal touch, but you can also find some at the grocery store if a gift slips your mind.
