I am sure you have read a lot of success stories. You know, where the guy or girl was overweight, lost the weight, and then tells you that they have all the answers. They know how you can lose weight. You know, maybe even give you a tip or ten.
My story is a little different. In 2008, I could not got put on a seat belt. I could not wipe myself in the bathroom. I was 5 foot 6 and 420 pounds. I wore a size 60 waist pair of pants and a 5xl shirt.
I did not work out. Not by a long shot. I worked. I had to sit down at work a lot because of my back. I tried to walk my dog, but my back hurt so bad! I did not clean that often, I did not do much of anything. I ate.
I realized that I was not afraid of dying. I was afraid that I was not living. For my wife, and for my future son.
I knew I needed to change. I started eating fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and a sprinkle of grains. I lost weight…221 pounds to be exact. No surgery, no pills, no Jillian Michaels.
At 198 pounds, I realized that I could live again. But I didn’t want to be "skinny". I wanted to be big! So I joined a gym and started working out. I started on the treadmill and moved to free weights. I learned how from books and YouTube videos.
And now....here is where I am.
I am a guy who weighs in the 220s. I work out every day. I do not make excuses for skipping the gym. I have made enough excuses in my life.
My new journey begins at Anytime Fitness. How can you say you do not have time when the gym is open 24 hours a day? When it is secure? When they have all the equipment you need to be the best you can be?
You cannot. There is always time. So check me out from time to time.
I am proud to work out at the Winter Springs, FL location. Pushing myself hard every workout.
Because it is 2010......not 2008.
