Simple Lifestyle Changes to Achieve Your New Years Resolution

We have all made our resolutions and, this year, it’s time to keep them. The way you live your life contributes to your well being, just as much as the time you put in at the gym. Here are a few simple ways to improve your lifestyle and help achieve your new years goals.

Walk
The simple change of not looking for the closest parking spot is another small step to achieve your health goals. Park farther away in parking lots, or be the person to run errands in the office, anything to get your blood moving a little more than it would of before. Remember: 30 minutes of walking will lower your risk for numerous diseases and is great for your health.

Mix It Up
I think we can all agree that working out sucks. Something I have found to make it suck less is mixing up your routine. Take a class you normally wouldn’t every month, or run outside rather than on a treadmill. Find new music that motivates your workouts. Every new activity you do will keep yourself from becoming bored and quit from your routine.

Take Vitamins
Many of us, including myself, do not have the most complete, and balanced diet. Taking a daily vitamin can help your body get the nutrients that you might not be getting through your daily diet choices. Find the right kind for your body and it will help keep you healthy to reach your goals.

Have a Positive Attitude
This is another step that is so easy and can make a huge difference. Don’t just expect results —work for them, and try to be patient. Thinking positively will keep you on track for your goals, rather than losing interest. Create a system that works best for you. And that may be motivational quotes or giving yourself rewards for reaching your goals.

These simple things may make or break you achieving your goals this year. I myself am doing every one of these things to achieve my personal goals.

great suggestions. I just started working out and decided to use a trainer 2 days a week. plus i go to a class 3 different days. I know I will continue to go because someone else is depending on me to be there. If i just depended on my mood to go workout, I know I would find excuses to not go.

A big change that I made to improve my health was to quit smoking. It has been over a year now. I like the park in the farthest parking spot idea. I am going to put that into practice.
