Looking for some summer motivation? Anytime Fitness is partnering with the President’s Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) to encourage children and families to be physically active and maintain a healthy lifestyle. As a President’s Challenge Advocate, Anytime Fitness is encouraging you to be a part of the Million PALA Challenge!
In support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative to end childhood obesity within a generation, the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition is challenging Americans of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to achieve their PALA. PALA requires youth participants, ages 6-17, to engage in physical activity for 60 minutes, five days per week, for six out of eight weeks. Adults should participate in 30 minutes of physical activity for the same duration. All participants who complete the requirements will receive a PALA certificate of achievement signed by the co-chairs of the President’s Council, Drew Brees and Dominique Dawes.
If you have been looking for a challenge this program is for you. You can use the Anytime Health to track your activities on the activity tracker. But, if you forget to do so, we can always use your gym usage data to verify your visits. Below is a printable PDF for those who wish to participate but are not on Anytime Health. We encourage you to involve your family, friends, and community! Need some inspiration for activities, PALA's website has plenty!
To meet the challenge deadline, participation must begin by August 1st and can be recorded manually or by using the activity tracker on Anytime Health. Record your activity for the next six weeks. At the completion of this challenge you will receive the PALA certificate. Use this opportunity to set a positive example for others and be a part of a nationwide campaign for a healthy lifestyle. And don’t forget, have fun!
how do we go about signing up for this? I tried to do the activity tracker but it will not accept if you dont put # of calories....
Hey David, maybe I can help, but I need some clarification.
What do you mean when you say "put # of calories?" Are you referring to entering a custom exercise?
If you don't know how many calories you burned during your exercise, feel free to track your activity for the PALA challenge using the Anytime Health journal (in the profile section).
Does that make sense? Let me know!
